Promise me you will not spend so much time treading water that you forget, truly forget how much you have always wanted to swim. - Tyler Knott Gregson
Writing has always been an outlet for me. As I swirl my words across blank pages they form into themes and ideas. I come up with conclusions about people in my life or I create a space where my ideas climb and reach a point where dreams thrive and are expressed so clearly- almost tangibly and the unknown that was so entangled in my heart becomes unwound and then gently a pattern forms from woven strands of tapestry- what I had believed a mess- my crazy thoughts and aspirations was becoming a masterpiece.

Musings
Spinach sugar cookies taste delicious. I found this out as I stumbled upon a Pinterest recipe last night with my sister. Trying to dispel the arctic blues, I've baked so much the past two weeks I feel like I'm opening my own bakery.
Yesterday I painted my nails dark brown/red. It's very rare that I paint my nails all one color so this was quite an accomplishment for me. Hopefully someday I'll be able to get my nails done....but when you graduate from college with loans ominously accruing interest each month, threatening to keep you from any spontaneous trips to Melbourne or Denver, CO or Prince Edward Island, I realize that I cannot possibly afford paying too much attention on my nails. Not that I really want to be that frivolous.
Today I tore down some wallpaper in our kitchen. It's quite fascinating knowing you can recreate the whole decor of a space by peeling soggy pieces of old wallpaper as your fingernails start shredding.

Comfort food- oh yes
Here is the artisan bread I made from Joy the Baker. My first two loaves were a wow for me. Unforgettably moist and yummy.
As a side note... My family and I trekked to Nashville in early January. Despite frigid temperatures (not exaggerating- it was nose stinging cold) we got to explore the music city along with its cafés and bars filled with carefree hearts-the most fearless dreamers willing to sing their souls-daring to hope that anything is possible-that making it in the music business is just one performance away...
I hope I can visit Nashville again just to feel that same daring hope that permeates the atmosphere there.
Lately I've been making different types of homemade bread with YEAST! Something I never thought I could ever do. So far, I've made Artisan bread, English muffins, and pizza crust. I want to make cinnamon buns but I'm afraid of the calories! Last night I made a delicious banana bread recipe by Once Upon a Chef. She has the most amazing blog for food! Kid and adult friendly! This is important to me because I love foods I ate as a kid like chocolate pudding and pizza. ;) Anyway, once I figure out how I will definitely post pictures of these things and experiment with other recipes. Oh my goodness! And diablo cookies are so spicy-sweet but delicious with cayenne pepper! I found them on Two Peas and Their Pod. You Must Try! (Well if you like spicy and chocolate). :)
